Puppy Kindergarten

Puppy French Bulldog Training

Learn how & what to teach your puppy in hands-on sessions, 1-on-1.

Puppies can be a lot of work! But they are even more work when naughty puppy behaviors are allowed to cement into life-long habits. Invest time now to raise your puppy right to ensure you have a well-behaved dog you can enjoy – rather than enduring the headaches, stress, and additional costs of trying to reverse bad behaviors later.

The younger you start, the more your dog will benefit.

What Should Puppies Learn First?

Puppies need to learn manners, boundaries, and structure! Puppies come with a variety of naughty behaviors that need to be addressed when they are young.

In your weekly private sessions I'll demonstrate skills with your puppy, and then you'll have the opportunity to try so I can help you with your technique. The goal is to give you the knowledge and confidence to put these skills into play at home.

The Puppy Kindergarten program includes 5 private, one-hour coaching sessions. It’s a custom program for each puppy, but typically we cover:

  • Potty Training

  • Crate Training

  • Mouthing/Biting

  • Inappropriate Chewing

  • Socialization

  • Inappropriate Jumping

  • Come

  • Leave It

  • Drop It

When Should I Start Training My Puppy?

The sooner the better! When possible, I even recommend starting your first session before your puppy comes home. Because our sessions are private and the training area is sanitized, there is no need to wait for the completion of puppy vaccinations. In fact, studies have shown that prior to 14 weeks of age is the “magic” period for learning and retaining behaviors. Don’t wait!

“I did the puppy kindergarten program, and Jenny’s advice to help me raise my new boxer puppy was clear, on point, and helped me avoid SO many bad habits I didn’t even know I already had! A word of advice – start EARLY. We had our first session before my puppy even came home so I knew how to set up the house and the crate.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Everyone is welcome! It's important for everyone in the household to be on the same page. Consistency is key for puppies! Kids under 12 years old don't tend to tune in as well, but there are lots of seating areas in my training yard for them to hang out, as long as they can self-entertain.

  • Once per week is best, but as the sessions are private, we can go at your own pace.

  • All sessions in Puppy Kindergarten are held outdoors in my training yard in Lake Balboa. We have lots of shade, and lights for evening sessions.

  • Because the sessions are private, we schedule them at your convenience. Daytime, evening, and weekend time slots are available.
